"Fear of the Yakshi" is a piece that addresses the taboo, suppression, and demonization of female sexuality in contemporary South Asian culture. Female eroticism takes the form of the ancient South Asian icon of the Yakshi, a divine nature spirit that was worshipped by the indigenous peoples of the land for her powers of fertility and sensuality.
